\nNot long after her marriage ended, Thompson met actor Greg Wise while filming Sense and Sensibility in 1995.<\/p>\n
The pair married in 2003 and have remained together ever since.<\/p>\n
Looking back, Thompson has often credited Wise with helping her recover after the collapse of her first marriage.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe picked up the pieces and put them together again,\u201d she previously told The Observer.<\/p>\n
She has also described how much healthier her second marriage has been.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve learned more from my second marriage just by being married,\u201d she said, adding with a smile: \u201cAs my mother says, \u2018The first twenty years are the hardest.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
