<\/p>\nHaunting Final Moments Of Woman Killed In Alligator Attack As Boyfriend Tried To Save Her
\nThe disturbing final moments of a woman who died in an alligator attack have been revealed.
\nBrittany Clark tragically lost her life in the most harrowing circumstances, after an alligator tore both her arms off, while her boyfriend desperately fought to save her.<\/p>\n
Now, the chilling 911 call has been released, detailing the haunting final moments of the fatal attack in Florida last week.
\nBrittany, 31, had been hiking in the Little Big Econ State Forest with her boyfriend, Chance Allison, and a friend who has not been identified, on Sunday, June 28.<\/p>\n
The group decided to take a break and dip into a nearby Econlockhatchee River to cool down at around 1.30pm, and were said to be swimming in \u2018shoulder deep water\u2019 when disaster struck.<\/p>\n
A harrowing 911 call
\nFrantic audio recorded during Chance\u2019s terrified call to emergency services has revealed much of what happened during the agonizing attack.<\/p>\n
The trio were enjoying the water when the alligator is said to have appeared out of nowhere and started attacking Brittany.<\/p>\n
According the Mirror US, screaming and crying can be heard in the background of the harrowing call, as Chance tells the 911 operator he was \u2018still trying to get her arms away from the alligator\u2019s mouth\u2019.<\/p>\n
Shortly afterwards, however, he revealed that \u2018both her arms, both her arms are off,\u2019 while Brittany\u2019s friend can be heard saying that one arm was \u2018hanging on by a thread\u2019.<\/p>\n
When the operator on the other end of the call asked where the other arm was, the unnamed friend said it was \u2018gone\u2019.<\/p>\n
Chance added that the attack was \u2018bad, real bad\u2019 and begged them to send emergency services as soon as possible, saying \u2018please hurry!\u2019<\/p>\n
He went on to say his friend was \u2018losing a lot of\u2026\u2019 before trailing off. Eventually he told the operator that the alligator \u2018went away\u2019 but reiterated that Brittany had been left with \u2018horrible\u2019 injuries.<\/p>\n
Together with the friend, Chance dragged his partner out of the water and told the operator: \u201cWe\u2019re far off the trail, we\u2019re off of a little launch area by the river\u2026 We need help now!\u201d<\/p>\n
In response the operator told him: \u201cYou may see a helicopter, if you see it, just try and flag it down if you can.\u201d<\/p>\n
More disturbing details in the medical report
\nMany more disturbing details relating to the fatal attack have been revealed in the medical examiner\u2019s report, seen by the DailyMail.<\/p>\n
The report revealed how Chance fought heroically to try and free Brittany from the gator\u2019s grip, before it performed a \u2018death roll,\u2019 dragging them both beneath the water.<\/p>\n
The death roll is a tactic used by alligators to subdue their prey, by twisting them onto their backs and violently dragging them beneath the water in an attempt to drown them.<\/p>\n
Chance risked his life as he desperately tried to free his girlfriend from the 12-foot apex predator, but tragically he was unable to save her.<\/p>\n
The report also revealed officials managed to track down the alligator following the attack, putting the animal down and decapitating it, keeping its head as a form of \u2018evidence\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile they were swimming an alligator grabbed Brittany by her arm and began the \u2018death roll\u2019,\u201d the report reads.<\/p>\n
\u201cHer boyfriend Chance grabbed the alligator trying to get it to release her when it took them both underwater.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to the document, Chance was initially able to get Brittany\u2019s arm free \u2018for a moment,\u2019 but the gator immediately locked its jaws on her other arm instead.<\/p>\n
It reads: \u201cChance attempted to bring them both to shore when the alligator finally let go and CPR was started on shore by her boyfriend, and 911 was called.\u201d<\/p>\n
A string of alligator attacks
\nThe devastating attack on Brittany, who was a big lover of hiking and the outdoors, marks the third horrific alligator attack in central Florida in the space of a week.<\/p>\n
Just seven days prior, a child was injured by a gator and another attack was reported the same day at Rainbow River in Merriam County.<\/p>\n
According to the Florida Wildlife Commission, alligator attacks on humans are rare, however yesterday marked the end of mating season, which lasts from April to the end of June, during which time the animals are significantly more territorial.<\/p>\n
