Police have released a statement regarding the sudden death of RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race UK star The Vivienne, whose real name was James Lee Williams.
\nThe performer was confirmed to have passed away at the age of 32 on Sunday (January 5)
\nThe devastating news was broken by Williams\u2019 friend and publicist Simon Jones, who took to social media to share the following statement: \u201cIt is with immense sadness that we let you know our beloved James Lee Williams \u2013 The Vivienne, has passed this weekend.<\/p>\n
\u201cJames was an incredibly loved, warm-hearted, and amazing person. Their family are heartbroken at the loss of their son, brother, and uncle. They are so proud of the wonderful things James achieved in their life and career. We will not be releasing any further details. We please ask that James\u2019s family are given the time and privacy they now need to process and grieve.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a follow-up post, Jones shared an emotional tribute, emphasizing the deep bond he shared with The Vivienne. \u201cThese are words I never ever wanted to write. Viv was a close friend, a client, and someone I loved very much.<\/p>\n

\nNow, officials from Cheshire Police have shared an update following the heartbreaking news.<\/p>\n
A spokesman for Cheshire Police stated that officers were called to an address in Chorlton-by-Backford, near Chester, at 12:22PM on Sunday after receiving reports of a sudden death.<\/p>\n
\u201cPolice attended, investigated the circumstances of the death of the 32-year-old man and concluded there were no suspicious circumstances. A file will be prepared for the coroner,\u201d the spokesman confirmed.<\/p>\n

\nThe Vivienne\u2019s last public appearance came just a week before their passing, while performing in the West End musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in Blackpool, where they starred as The Childcatcher.<\/p>\n
