Emily Atack said she \u2018couldn\u2019t put her clothes back on\u2019 after filming her notorious nude scene.
\nThe Inbetweeners star was a part of the ensemble cast for last year\u2019s Disney+ hit, Rivals.<\/p>\n
The 35-year-old of course played Sarah Stratton, the mistress-turned-second-wife of an MP whose having an affair with the elusive Rupert Campbell-Black (Alex Hassell).<\/p>\n
And even if you\u2019ve not watched it, you\u2019ll have at least heard about her bursting onto screen in the first episode\u2019s naked tennis match. That scene is particularly famous, having been a key feature of Jilly Cooper\u2019s original 1980s novel.<\/p>\n
There was a whole lot of talk about the full-frontal nudity at the time as Atack said she\u2019s a fan of a \u2018big entrance\u2019.<\/p>\n
She\u2019s now revealed more about the behind the scenes of what went into dressing that dressed down moment with a \u2018stick-on muff\u2019.<\/p>\n

\nChatting at the Edinburgh TV Festival yesterday (20 August), Atack spoke about embracing the producer\u2019s wish to have her play Stratton.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe breakdown for the characters said, \u2018Think Emily Atack\u2019, so they went, \u2018Well, let\u2019s just get Emily, then,\u2019\u201d she explained, adding that she still \u2018had to audition\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cI went in with all the get-up on and they thought I\u2019d dressed up,\u201d the star added.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was actually just going to a bar afterwards. They were like, \u2018Thank you so much for dressing as the role,\u2019 I was like, \u2018No worries.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Atack joked that she had to \u2018dig real deep\u2019 to play the part as talk turned to the BAFTA-nominated naked tennis match scene.<\/p>\n
Alex Hassell went with the \u2018model\u2019s own\u2019 option rather than an oversizes prosthetic for the scene, as character Rupert was written to have a manhood he could \u2018bat bread rolls with\u2019.<\/p>\n
Atack, of course, had the tennis racket and balls to somewhat cover herself with in the full-frontal nude moment. But that wasn\u2019t quite all that was covering her.<\/p>\n
The scene is pretty legendary (Disney+)
\n\u201cI had a stick-on muff,\u201d she explained. \u201cI had to have a merkin, it\u2019s called, and I had all these fittings for them.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey were going: \u2018Oh no, it\u2019s too blonde that one,\u2019 and it had to be a proper Eighties bush.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut that actually helped because it actually just felt like I had these big furry knickers on, and I kept looking at the monitor going: \u2018Oh, do I look alright? Oh God!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
While it felt \u2018weird and jarring\u2019 at first to see herself naked on camera, Atack was soon fine with it and felt like she \u2018couldn\u2019t put my clothes back on\u2019 afterwards.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was quite liberating,\u201d the actor said. \u201cThey were like, \u2018Emily, can you put your clothes back on now?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
