The \u201cred bikini girl\u201d has spoken out after a party video amassed more than 100 million views on social media.<\/p>\n
Oc\u00e9ane, who is known online as the \u201cRed Bikini Girl,\u201d was filmed during a party in Lloret de Mar, Spain.<\/p>\n
The 13-second clip quickly spread across multiple platforms, including X, where it has been reposted countless times.<\/p>\n
As the video\u2019s popularity continued to grow, one user even described her as \u201cthe most popular lady on the internet right now.\u201d<\/p>\n
The French woman, who goes by the handle @aora.dj, said she had no idea she was being filmed and has been left stunned by the video\u2019s popularity.<\/p>\n
Speaking in a video shared online, she said: \u201cHi, it\u2019s Oc\u00e9ane. The question that comes up most often is\u2026 I won\u2019t say more [about that]. The scale this is taking on is becoming huge.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m proud of it and [it lets me] show other women that no matter what they look like, it\u2019s important to be proud,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
She says she\u2019s laughing off the negative comments
\nWhile the clip has garnered millions of views, Oc\u00e9ane says not all of the attention has been positive.<\/p>\n
\u201c[The comments are] largely from men, yeah, not very nice, but now I actually laugh about it\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
She also thanked the women who have shown their support: \u201c[My account] is called @lesfillesalloret\u2026 and the support from girls in Lloret de Mar\u2026 and then, like every woman really, in the end. I\u2019m very happy this way.\u201d<\/p>\n
Her message echoes a growing movement online
\nOc\u00e9ane\u2019s comments come as more women use social media to encourage body confidence at every age.<\/p>\n
One of them is 70-year-old content creator Shannon Nelson, who recently went viral after wearing a bikini for the first time in 45 years.<\/p>\n
Speaking to PEOPLE, Nelson said she had always believed swimsuits were \u201csomething you had to qualify for with the right kind of body\u201d before her 15-year-old niece, Lily, encouraged her to try on a red string bikini.<\/p>\n
\u201cLily just said it very casually, like it wasn\u2019t a big deal at all,\u201d she said. \u201cThat\u2019s what stuck with me. At a certain age, you assume there are things you\u2019re not supposed to wear anymore, and she clearly hadn\u2019t gotten that memo.\u201d<\/p>\n
After posting a video wearing the bikini, Nelson racked up 3.2 million views and received thousands of supportive comments.<\/p>\n
\u201cGirl, you look absolutely amazing! Wear the damn bikini,\u201d one user wrote. Another chimed in: \u201cA BADDIE IN RED!!!\u201d<\/p>\n
A third added: \u201cSTOP IT!! you look FABULOUS!\u201d and a fourth said: \u201cWhy am I smiling! I love this video. Such a great example for women of all ages to be proud in your skin your in. Plus it does look incredible on you, she was right.\u201d<\/p>\n
The influencer said she might wear the swimwear again because at this age, \u201cwho am I trying to impress?\u201d<\/p>\n
She also hopes her experience will inspire other women to wear whatever makes them feel comfortable. \u201cI\u2019ll take comfort over style any day,\u201d Nelson added.<\/p>\n
