Millions of people remember him as the adorable little boy from *Jerry Maguire* and *Stuart Little*. But behind Jonathan Lipnicki’s childhood fame was a painful struggle that left him questioning his future in Hollywood. Today, at 36, he is proving that his story is far from over. 👀

Lipnicki was just five when he appeared alongside Tom Cruise and Renée Zellweger in ‘Jerry Maguire’ in 1996. His performance as Ray Boyd made him one of the most recognizable child actors of the late 1990s 🤩

Then came *Stuart Little* in 1999, followed by its 2002 sequel. Suddenly, the young actor was a familiar face to children and families around the world.

But growing up in the spotlight wasn’t always easy. At school, Lipnicki faced bullying from classmates who told him his acting career was over and that he would never find work again 😢

He later opened up about the experience on social media, writing: “I was told I was a has-been and would never book a job again. I was made to feel like garbage every day of middle school.”

As he got older, Lipnicki stepped back from the spotlight to enjoy a more normal teenage life. He attended school, played water polo, and went to prom before returning to acting as an adult.

The road back wasn’t easy, either. Despite his early success, he struggled to land some roles and began focusing more carefully on the projects he wanted to pursue.

In a 2025 interview with *People*, he admitted that he wasn’t yet where he wanted to be in his career. But he remained determined to keep going.

And he has continued to work.

In September 2026, Lipnicki appeared at the Los Angeles premiere of *Primetime*, a crime thriller starring Robert Pattinson. He also has new film projects in the works, including *Williston*, on which he serves as an executive producer.

Away from acting, Lipnicki has pursued Brazilian jiu-jitsu and supported charitable causes, including organizations focused on childhood illness.

Now 36, he is looking ahead rather than simply living off the success he found as a child.

His journey has included early fame, painful setbacks, and years of working to establish himself on his own terms. But Lipnicki has made one thing clear: he still loves acting and has no intention of giving up.

For the millions who remember the little boy with the glasses in *Jerry Maguire*, Jonathan Lipnicki may look very different today. But the dream that first brought him to Hollywood is still alive – and he believes his best work may yet be ahead of him 🙏🏼👏🏼
