Rob Reiner and wife Michele Singer Reiner were found dead, and their son Nick is now in police custody
Tracy Reiner is speaking out after the deaths of her father Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner.
“I came from the greatest family ever,” Tracy, 61, told NBC News. “I don’t know what to say. I’m in shock.”
Rob welcomed Tracy via adoption during his marriage to the late Penny Marshall. Tracy also told the outlet she had just seen her father at a family gathering one day prior.
After being questioned by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division following the deaths of his parents, Nick Reiner, 32, is now in custody. He’s being held on $4 million bail, according to Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department records.

Multiple sources who had spoken with family members told PEOPLE in the wake of the tragedy that Nick killed Rob and Michele in their Los Angeles home. Rob and Michele were found by their daughter Romy on Sunday, Dec. 14, the sources told PEOPLE.
Rob and Michele married in 1989 before having three children: Jake, Nick and Romy. Nick has spoken openly about his struggles with addiction, which began in his teens and ultimately led to him experiencing homelessness.

At about 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14, the Los Angeles Fire Department was called to a home to provide medical aid, the LAFD told PEOPLE. Upon arrival, they found a man and a woman dead.
Rob and Michele met when Rob directed When Harry Met Sally, one of his many iconic films, including The Princess Bride (1987), Misery (1990) and A Few Good Men (1992).
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time,” Rob and Michele’s family said in a statement to Variety.
